Weddings in Temecula are always a treat for me to photograph! In 2016 me and my wife Lauren Ogden who is also a wedding photographer got married in Temecula and we have some really great memories from that day. I am more of a beach kinda guy but I do love me some wine country vibes.
On this day I had not met the couple and I had not ever photographed a wedding at Harveston Lakehouse. So I was sure to be early and scope out the lay of the land and to also peek my head to meet Shannon and Chris prior to my start time.
Getting to a wedding early is the norm. If I have been to a location 100 times, I am still at least 45 min early and If I've never been to a location I arrive even earlier. I like to check out the location of the sun through out the day with my SUN SEEKER app on my phone. I can see where the sunlight is going to be best for certain images through out the day.
It was just me this day photographing their wedding. There was not a 2nd photographer. A 2nd photographer is really not ever a downside to a wedding day but also not always needed. For this wedding at Harveston Lakehouse, the ready rooms were very close to each other, the ceremony site and the reception were all on site. There was also great spots for family photos and couples portraits without having to leave. So with 1 photographer we could get it all and it was still very smooth.
It really was just a great day with the couple and their entire family plus all the vendors and especially @theperfectshindig with the planning and styling of the entire wedding.
